There's magic in listening to people talk about things they've done for a very long time.
Microsoft just released a tool that lets you convert Office files to Markdown. Never thought I'd see the day.
Google also added Markdown export to Google Docs a few months ago.
Kinda curious why the EU isn't bringing the hammer down on Microsoft with its Windows 10 end of life bullcrap. You'd think they wouldn't like the idea of a bad MS policy creating tons of e-waste and security issues for Europeans for no reason and tell MS that no, actually, they'll continue rolling out Windows 10 security updates in the EU free of charge OR make it so "incompatible devices" are made compatible

"Science cannot solve the ultimate mystery of nature. And that is because, in the last analysis, we ourselves are part of nature and therefore part of the mystery that we are trying to solve."

I will, in fact, claim that the difference between a bad programmer and a good one is whether he considers his code or his data structures more important. Bad programmers worry about the code. Good programmers worry about data structures and their relationships.

not as well know as Moore's Law, but Wirth's law states software is getting slower more rapidly than hardware is becoming faster. We might get new devices millions time faster than a decade ago but things are just as fast but using more resources and power. browsers always end up using all RAM.

Where do you find musical scores when you don't find them in places like musescore.com?
I'm trying to find the score for an orchestral song by Bernard Herrmann (the prelude for the movie Mysterious Island[1]) but I cannot find it anywhere.
I am super excited to share that my forthcoming book with @alex, THE AI CON: How to Fight Big Tech's Hype and Create the Future We Want, is now available for pre-order!

Today I have a day off, so I'm going to do exactly what I do on my days off: useless stuff!
I found a curious program, but it comes precompiled for Slackware 3.0 circa 1995, so I have to install it. I assume a.out, though some say it's actually ELF, so maybe I'm looking at recompiling the kernel later.
Finding the distro alone is a bit of a challenge!
