@qwertyoruiop high end too harsh in lossless maybe? mp3 filtering + compression to the rescue?

@qwertyoruiop I can't think of one... with maybe the exception of Portishead. But even in that case I would say "no difference" rather than 128kbps being better. What songs do you have in mind?

@xanathar some examples: wshdway - found, cult member - Ariel dub. Although these are lofi house tracks, so it may be a particular case

@qwertyoruiop I'm no expert but IIRC sound engineers usually calculate with the expected listening medium too. For example there was an article about how commercial pop is mastered so it'll get into your head when played in malls, and they can probably also take into account that people will listen to a track from YT on a 3G connection.
