I have been reminded of the greatest representation of what it feels like to have ADHD that was ever put to film.

@gsuberland god I strongly identify with that clip. I lost 20 minutes doing chores last night trying to find an empty laundry basket (or figure out how to empty one).

@HybridElephant if you're running invidious, check out the docs. there's a new thing for generating trusted viewer tokens.

@gsuberland not running invidious... don't even know what that means. is it an operating system?

@HybridElephant sorry, my usual interactions are typically with hardcore computer touchers so I often assume folks are doing funky non-standard stuff :P

Invidious is an alternative YouTube frontend, basically a self-hosted website you can watch YouTube through. faster, more customisable, no ads, and less tracking. but Google absolutely hates it and has been waging war on it, which is unfortunately why you're seeing this "need to confirm you're not a bot" message.

@gsuberland i've heard of things like that before, and i totally understand why gewgel hates them, despite the fact that i also understand why things like that are necessary. unfortunately, in my experience, things like that never last that long, and you constantly have to switch to new gadgets because gewgel gets the upper hand, eventually. πŸ˜’

@HybridElephant yeah, it's been a bit of a rollercoaster so far. I've been helping with the reverse engineering efforts to try to keep things working but it's a game of cat and mouse.
