Further commentary from Mozilla on the new Terms.
“These changes are not driven by a desire by Mozilla to use people’s data for AI or sell it to advertisers,” Mozilla spokesperson Kenya Friend-Daniel said in an email to TechCrunch. “As it says in the Terms of Use, we ask for permission from the user to use their data to operate Firefox ‘as you indicate with your use of Firefox.’ This means that our ability to use data is still limited by what we disclose in the Privacy Notice.”
Good to hear, but the whole point was that clause really, really seemed to extend beyond the Privacy Notice. Oh and also, there's enough wiggle room in the notice to be wary.
@mttaggart How are you doing that quote thing in your posts?
@djchateau Markdown! A >
at the beginning of a paragraph makes it a blockquote.
@mttaggart Oh, awesome. I didn't realize the Mastodon instance supported it. That's going to be super handy.
@mttaggart @djchateau we don’t have markdown support in mastodon.social.
Would love to have that option.
@wtrmt @mttaggart Oddly I can't seem to get it to work for me. I just tried it with a new post and it's not rendering like that.

I just forgot to turn on a setting.
