I wish @signalapp would allow custom emojies like MSN Messenger did.
Or like slack, but not like discord/twitch, i don't wanna pay for emojies.
@mainframed767 @signalapp I wonder if it's out of concern for the attack surface that would expose. Many (most?) zero-click exploits against mobile devices are through vulnerabilities in multimedia processing libraries triggered via sending arbitrary media files.
@DaveMWilburn @signalapp does their GIF provider ensure scanning? Also you can send gifs and mp4 files yourself.
@buherator @mainframed767 @signalapp Signal has stickers ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@mainframed767 @DaveMWilburn @signalapp My guess is it's a schema thing. Reactions currently would be a reference to a single Unicode sequence, whereas custom emoji would have to be a URL (to where?) or b64-encoded data
@buherator @mainframed767 @signalapp You can create a sticker set in Signal desktop https://support.signal.org/hc/en-us/articles/360031836512-Stickers#sticker_creator_steps
