Concerning AI, people either complain that it does *too much*, or that it doesn't do *enough*.
I mean, one day, we'll have to realize that those 2 complaints can't live together. It's either one, but not both together ;P
@cryptax It's actually two sides of the same complaint: IA is greatly overrated. The first sees something that runs everywhere but doesn't fulfill its promises while stealing jobs from skilled people, the second sees something that sucks and isn't ready to run everywhere, especially since we have skilled people to do the job.
@aris well yes, it's overrated by journalists and marketing. But engineers know it by now, and maybe they could forget that for a while and look at with more objective eyes and see what it's good for, and what it's not good for.
People come with prejudices, and they don't want to change their opinion even parts of it. Then, what's the goal of listening to a talk or a workshop if you believe you've got nothing to learn?
