I want this to be the final nail in their coffins so bad. 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞

@boby_biq Pride? Nope. Sadly, nope. I am afraid banning - or trying to ban - Pride will even win them votes.
@algernon Disagreeeeeee.
It seems like ppl are clocking it that it’s not really about the event itself, but about the right to protest/gather wherever it called in English- I general.
Ah. Wrong post to reply to.
Dunno. He’s unpopular. This is not helping him.
@boby_biq other people are colossal *phobes, and hate Pride, and trying to ban it strengthens - or even wins - their votes. They don't think further than that.
Yes, Budapest is, in general, more pro-Pride than not. I am not convinced that applies to the rest of the country. It certainly does not to my small town, where even most Tisza sympathisers are anti-Pride, and the governments supporters are genuinely delighted.
Its quite disappointing.
While it is great to see the protests in Budapest, when it comes to elections, Fidesz is very much aware that Budapest is not theirs. It never was. So they made sure it doesn't count for much.
@algernon According some recent poll 56percent nationwide (!) opposed banning Pride.
@boby_biq Polls, lol. Polls here are wildly wrong. Polls predicted the last election will be close. It was yet another 2/3. Polls don't account for cheating, nor large scale lying, either.
Thing is, people opposing the government are far more likely to answer polls, thus it will heavily sway towards them. That, and people lie, especially when their conscience isn't clear.
Also: Tisza isn't doing a great job at being an ally to that 56%, either. Whatever votes Fidesz loses due to Pride (not many, I allege most of their voters are with them on that), Tisza fails to win. At the same time, there are anti-Pride people who might sway towards Fidesz (eg, Mi Hazank voters who wish to ensure Tisza doesn't win).
@boby_biq https://publicus.hu/blog/partok-tamogatottsaga-2022-februar/ - and then we got a 2/3. Again.
