@revng I don't think external links are a problem, but without an algorithm and low number of followers posts can easily get buried in peoples timelines (so reposting can be a good idea). Hashtags can help a lot, because people can follow those.

@buherator @revng @shellsharks I can't see the attachment. But as for exposure/engagement, I think external links are very welcomed, if not preferred here to be honest. They certainly aren't algorithmically down-ranked (as buherator indicated). Discovery/reach can certainly be tough on Fedi (again no Algo). You just need to share and share often. Reply to folks with stuff you want them to see, and often they'll boost too. Takes time to build a following. And this is actually the exact example of what I'm talking about. You've asked a question, that I answer with something I've written on my blog. Perhaps you (or someone else who encounters this reply) will like what I've written and boost my reply, or read other stuff on my site, or subscribe to my RSS feed. It all kinda builds on eachother over time.
