@jerry @AAKL @buherator thanks for the explanation. I can surely understand that. The activism/call to actions you see in the Fediverse are justified, but I also lose a bit of my sanity every time I open Mastodon now.

This is not the reason why I went to Mastodon. Which is not the fault of the users (or the admins!), but it sucks nonetheless.
