I love the science of planetary formation, because you'll be reading about the Late Heavy Bombardment and it'll say "[this suggests] very rapid cooling, requiring only 100 million years."

Ahh yes. Very rapid. Blink of an eye! A mere 100 million years, a tenth of a billion years!

There's a lot of possible explanations given for the Late Heavy Bombardment on the Wikipedia page but they left off "we pissed off The Precursors and they flung a ton of rocks at us with mass drivers".

Obvious oversight in retrospect

Anyway after doing some research (aka reading 3 Wikipedia articles) I think the solution to climate change is that we need to retrigger snowball earth.

This will kill off multicellular life but it'll definitely solve the problem with atmospheric carbon

@foone there's a nieche german Pen&Paper RPG called "LodlanD" that is set under water in the oceans.
With the backstory being "people tried to get rid of CO2 by using plankton, and shit got out of hand, freezing the whole surface. whoops."

@foone
OTOH, Jupiter formed in just ~4M years.
