SUMMARY: A woman is accused of killing her in-laws with toxic mushrooms in a Beef Wellington dish. The Trump-Musk relationship deteriorates publicly, with Musk calling for Trump's impeachment and allegations of Trump being linked to the Epstein files. Tensions in the Ukraine escalate as Russia launches strikes on Kyiv. Democrats celebrate the fallout of the Trump-Musk feud, while Tesla shares plunge significantly amid the controversy.

as liberals critically underestimated the ruthless sadism of the right, the right underestimated the alienated lack of observation inherent in current liberalism

Hey so yeah it does seem like seizure of actual state power is more or less complete and jurisprudence doesn’t matter because a critical mass of law enforcement are MAGA loyalists and they’re all just smirking and waiting for everyone to finally notice

“'What I’m saying is hang on to your stock,' Musk said."

And while he was saying this to the rank-and-file, board members and other insiders have been cashing out in a big way. (https://abcnews.go.com/Business/tesla-board-members-executive-sell-off-100-million/story?id=119889047)

Exactly the same thing happened at Enron when things started to go south.

City of Portland comms departments need to fully stop using Twitter.

even now that it’s a de facto Nazi website owned by a deranged fascist illegally looting the country, they still fucking tweet more than they even use flashalerts.

They should at least be regularly using flashalerts, but even better would be the city making a dedicated mastodon server for its departments & offices. Easy, open source, has rss feeds, etc etc

As previously mentioned, here's what Einstein had to say about segregation:

"There is a separation of white people and colored people in the United States. That separation is not a disease of colored people. It is a disease of white people. I do not intend to be quiet about it."

For the last 20 years of his career, Einstein declined almost all public speaking engagements, except those at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).

This photo was taken at Lincoln University, an HBCU.

Learning David Lynch was once distressed by the sight of a tenement-dweller cooking an egg on an iron is one thing; learning it was a tenement his grandfather owned, in which none of the rooms for rent had kitchens, is quite another.

like maybe #lemmy & #mbin have similarly good comment threading, but I think of those as pretty different platforms than this.
