AI slop is being weaponized by the internet's worst grifters, who do not care that it's not real as long as it helps them further their political agenda

@jasonkoebler such an irritating (& by appearances kind of obtuse?) “flood the zone with shit” maneuver

@stefan I saw this last night; feel kind of ambivalent but basically fine about it, I guess? I do rather appreciate the jabs at data brokers

“Stay alive” is such a funny admonition in what a minuscule portion of humanity it addresses

@ophiocephalic @NoFlexZone @oceane I wish the markdown implementation on writefreely was just a little more robust (thinking along the lines of hedgedoc), but agree it’s great.

I watched that movie “A Dark Song” last night and it had so many good things going for it, but ultimately kind of shit the bed.

I’ll probably double back on this at some point - it seems like some of the Korg SDK libraries are a bit hard to approach initially too - I’m mostly just thinking of like seeing microfreak patches for sale etc - when it’s such a fun and approachable interface to make your own stuff with - seems hard to run out of ideas very quickly

also by “conventional synthesizer patches” I mean NOT stuff like elaborate puredata assemblages, norns scripts, ORCA patches, etc - all of which are a bit of a different animal IMO

They’re so fun and satisfying to make yourself - I guess if you’re trying to learn from someone else’s work it might make sense? idk

The irony is not lost on me that the Internet Archive went out of its way to acquire the physical versions of millions of books and loan them out carefully and in a limited way, and is facing a near-extinction-level event over it, while for-profit and VC-backed companies are just stealing people’s content and making up excuses to validate the bad behavior.
