IMO.. the worst part about it isn't even the "theft"... it's that the vast majority of the data that they train the models on is actually harmful to the people / business use cases that they're trying to sell....

I.E. they're burning the amazon to the ground.. because they're too fucking stupid to just do it right the first time.

ML can be great... and LLM's could even be done in a way that is great for specific use cases... but "throw all of the worlds resources into a bonfire while promising the rubes that 'some day' the computers will think for them" is one of the worst possible life choices... even before you see how gawd awful their end product is..
