@cR0w "at the cost of research velocity while the vulnerabilities are patched."

I've spent enough time in enterprise settings to recognize that this translates to "security is a cost center and we spend as little on it as we legally can". I do love how they manage to also blame due diligence as a cause of not whacking more moles!

@cR0w omg, the security guy XD Seen so many of these where I work. It's disturbing how easily I could smuggle weapons in "secure" areas. As a paramedic who also does event/concert/festival paramedic stuff and needs to bring some own gear to work, I've "smuggled" so many knifes, scissors, multi-tools, needles, etc. through securtiy checks. And in none of those was I wearing my uniform or showing them my work ID, lol. I could have easily been an evil guy with a lot of sharps!

@cR0w There's something about talking about your 'velocity' in a sedentary job that has the same distasteful vibe as relentlessly hammering the military jargon when you fundamentally are there to be the patch conscience that nobody else is and turn on MFA.

Exceptions can be made for anyone who is literally an orbital mechanic, rocket surgeon, or similar; obviously.

And then there's the much more blatant implied admission that 'velocity' normally gets YOLOSEC treatment, because of course.
