@sonictyrant This is, of course, for laughs, but solving "The Y2K problem" was an excellent example of a mitigated disaster.

It was so well mitigated that there are folks today who think it wasn't actually a big problem at all.

@chadgeidel @sonictyrant Also, all the pandemics that haven't happened or have been on a much smaller scale because of vaccination? The measles outbreaks and the whooping cough outbreaks that spread only so far? Mitigated disasters... That likewise make people think maybe the mitigation wasn't necessary, since in the end, it wasn't such a big deal...
