A solid round of applause for Microsoft which managed to do something to one of their mail clusters in Amsterdam (or more than one) so that it refuses _all_ email to IPv6 addresses even if the connector is set up correctly and replies that the connector is not set up correctly.

Nice 500-class bounces because they are good like that.

The IPv6 blocks which appear problematic are (at least):

2a01:111:f403:ca04:::/64

Oh, and don't tell me to open a support ticket… we have, except the 24x7 number given to us by their sales channel is disconnected and we had to open a ticket via someone's friend who works at MSFT.

Who on Earth continues to believe this Cloud rubbish?

For the price of their licenses you could get a pretty good sysadmin to set up an amazingly solid Postfix cluster instead.

@cynicalsecurity but a good sysadmin costs a lot more than a clickity-click one; but more important: active directory integration, permissions from there, groups and distrolists and that dreaded calendaring which comes along with a lot of features (room booking/reservations etc) that are not reliably found in an OS stack.... and one gets the word/excel nonsense for free^Wincluded.... one can see why $business people prefer that over 1 sysadmin for less

@jeroen it is all hidden costs though… my client moved two years ago for an annual cost of $300k, now $1M in creeping licensing. It is pure drug dealing for business people, like cocaine but legal.

@cynicalsecurity want some copilot with that? we'll be increasing pricing though! your data? exporting costs money! But you have to make a feature list: what do they need, what do they get, what do they really use; and then: how can you replace that; 300k is already 2-ish full time salaries for a sysadmin... 1M gives one a team, must be a big user with a lot of data....

@cynicalsecurity @jeroen "I don't understand what exactly happened last night on LinkedIn, but I know it is dark and sad and reeks of unfulfilled wants. The executive sat before me has been marketed to."
