what I see happening is that the Trump Machine will initially waffle on the most violent aspects of their promises; some lower level MAGA fanatics, though, will step into the breach and do some pogrom style violence & murders. There will be a brief moment of bewilderment before leadership decides to own it, and then it will kick off on a much more massive scale.

there are a lot of intermediary steps / forms, but think of the progression from Unite The Right to January 6th.
after UTR, they were in total disarray. enough of the GOP mainstream felt too repulsed to double down and defend the nazis.
gradually, though, with repetition of violent MAGA nazi rallies, and with the mainstreaming of alt right propagandists like Andy Ngo & ghoulish GOP functionaries like Harmeet Dhillon (plus whole lot of dark money from a cadre of fascist billionaires) – their revulsion toward outright nazism waned. after J6 it only took a couple of weeks for the mainstream GOP to consolidate around a cluster of apologist and denialist positions. And their well-funded (possibly some of the most funded media in history) propaganda organs went into overdrive.
when the next UTR style fascist atrocities happen (& they will be bigger and worse), they will not hesitate to circle the wagons.

the US’ social immune system against fascism is currently in terminal decline.
that doesn’t mean pockets of genuine resistance (not liberal bullshit) don’t remain vital, but they can’t rely on mobilizing broadly generalized social revulsion against outright nazism, fascism, & kkk stuff. the GOP has absorbed that stuff.
none of this means “just give up” on any front. but be clear eyed.
