@skyglowberlin It seems that on this spots it's required by law, on street sides as far as I know, because there's also continuous traffic on the street. Some decades ago, this law was well-known in germany, when there were not so many street lights at night, but now the law might be forgotten and this is why it had called attention by the newspapers.

@skyglowberlin Part 4 also refers to streets inside villages, what's exactly meant with the topic in the article, that you then need to have at least one light on the side facing the road, when you park on the edge of the road and there are no street lights on. So what is the question?

@skyglowberlin Ah, now I understand. But as it's also allowed to park on roads under certain circumstances, they are also included in this law. That's why the article alerts about this fact, because it affects the residents parking on roads all night, e.g. in front of their house.
