really feels like neoliberal capitalism is waging a fairly effective “carrot or stick” campaign in recent years, even with a shitty rotten carrot.
also feels like an unfortunate number of ppl think that if they choose “stick,” that means it’ll be used against the people they don’t like, not them.
(“leopards eating peoples faces party”, etc)

Joe Biden is a shitty right wing politician (the democratic party is, at best, center-right as far as world history is concerned), and i’ll still litter my vote away on him just to opt against the fascist party. dismal.
also it’s weird to see “respectable” press suddenly acknowledging the nazi resonance of Trump’s (& MAGA’s) authoritarian bigotry. for years plenty of people have been diligently constructing this argument, with tons of rigorous substantiating evidence; they’ve just been ignored or pushed aside because they are actual leftists, socialists, communists, or anarchists.
the cold war really did a number on critical reasoning in the USA.
like, you all are aware that Trump has been using the nazi “lugenpresse” rhetoric against you for almost a decade, right? https://www.forbes.com/sites/saradorn/2023/11/12/trump-compares-political-foes-to-vermin-on-veterans-day-echoing-nazi-propaganda/

lol i think this was the headline that set me off on that annoying rant:
It’s Official: With “Vermin,” Trump Is Now Using Straight-up Nazi Talk
it’s later than you think, friends!
