helping out on a j thing & it’s interesting to realize that the authority figures in his life could have more easily railroaded this kid if they’d just had the foresight not to criminally charge him.

the charges are truly bullshit, and the fact that he happened to get appointed a very good public defender is looking quite likely to derail the whole sloppy thing they’ve got set up against him.

they’re not all cops, and some of them I’m sure are very good people who have very hard jobs, but it sure looks like they’re caught up in some hasty & punitive decisions they made regarding a child, and are feeling kinda nervous about it at this point. basically, thanks to the cop.
