If there’s anything that dire news stories—record heat, melting ice, disturbing the axis, and so on—should tell you, it’s that human decisions *do* have the ability to bring about planet-scale effects. If we’ve already done it, we can do it again with more intention and to more positive effects. We have to decide to, but it’s possible.

@ascentale @marcprecipice Thank you for the mention! A while back I saw a scientist pointing out why we no longer have to talk about the hole in the ozone layer as another example of research, regulation, international commitment, results. (This was in the form of a rebuttal to some anti-science blurt of "why don't we hear about the hole in the ozone layer anymore? See, those scientists lie!" And the scientist pointing out that we don't have to talk about it because we fixed it.
