Happy Pride month to my fellow queers! So much has changed since I was a kid trying to figure out where a freak like me could fit into the world. I was born into a society where anal sex and homosexuality were illegal; where being gay or bisexual or trans was considered a psychiatric disorder (and could get you institutionalized); and where rape in marriage was legal, abortion was illegal and divorces were very difficult to obtain. And same sex marriage wasn't possible.

As big as our current legal and social challenges are as segments of the population in our society try to stuff us all back into closets, jail cells or psych wards, we've come a fucking long way baby! We need to fight tooth and nail for our and each other's continued liberation. Nobody is free until we're all free...

Sometimes that gets lost among all the current threats and dangers (which are very real)

Agree we still need to fight hard, but also good to remember how much better it is today than 1980s. Let’s celebrate that 🎉
