Is the oath one swears in military and government to protect the constitution just a perfunctory piece of performance bullshit that means nothing?

How can someone running for president call for the suspension of the US Constitution and be a valid candidate? How can a sitting member of congress not just talk about secession but explicitly call for the dissolution of our union and still have her goddamn job? I understand how she can have support, because MAGA fascists are vile, despicable creatures, but how can she still be on committees and getting classified debriefings while calling for the end of our country? Why is MTG not expelled?

This is not a rhetorical question. Is there no recourse to law or ethics? This country can not stand if we allow traitors within the government to call for its own dissolution.

You don't get to claim First Amendment protections when you are calling for the end of the constitution that provides those protections.
