Heute hab ich mir n Wärmepflaster und ne Schachtel Voltaren geholt, was mal eben eine Größenordnung teurer war.

For some reason, I always end up being the 5th wheel.

I'm in department 4. Everyone else who does my job is in department 3. They keep forgetting me in mailing lists and meetings.

They sent me for 2 weeks to do project y. The 3 other people in the project team are in department 2, and report to the boss who is here with us. I do not. They let me know on an hourly basis that I am not one of them.

Sigh.

Mastodon has a new human-over-AI contribution policy.

tl;dr:

- The human contributor is the sole party responsible for the contribution.

- If AI was used to generate a significant portion of your contribution (i.e. beyond simple autocomplete), we require you to disclose it in the Pull Request description.

- If you cannot guarantee the provenance and legal safety of the AI-generated code, do not submit it.

- Cases of repeated violations of these ... guidelines could result in a ban from our repositories.

Wenn mir Leute Freitags noch schnell ein Meeting reinlegen, ist das üblicherweise kein gutes Zeichen.

Aber heute war's nur ein PM, der die #ITsec Milestones in seinem #Projektablauf erklärt haben wollte.

Ja, die gäbe auch in einem Wiki erklärt, aber der Mensch hat in den nächsten Monaten gleich mehrere recht teure Projekte, da ist so ein persönlicher Kontakt vorher ganz hilfreich.

And the first person I ran into (and didn't recognise until he told me his name) was the CTO of the whole company.

And of course, when he held an AMA after his keynote, I asked the one question my bosses boss and their boss keep sweeping under a rug whenever I bring it up.

And the CTO answered, honestly, about the state if the thing. He took my worries seriously because he was just as worried.

I feel a strong urge to hide in some basement 🙈

Das ist im play store nicht viel anders. Die hatten mehrere Skandale mit manipulierten Apps. Abgesehen davon dass 90% der normalen Apps voller Tracker sind.

Aber über fdroid bieten halt einige Devs und Firmen ihre Apps an, deren Zahlung dann nicht an den Play store gebunden sind. Gerade für nicht-AOSP-User die einzige Möglichkeit, legal an diese Apps zu kommen.

Es gibt aber trotzdem ein Problem dabei: ohne die AOSP-User wird die Userbase für fdroid ein ganzes Stück zusammenschrumpfen. Die Frage ist dann, ob Developer sich noch die Mühe machen.

Einige bestimmt, weil sie selbst den Zielen und Werten anhängen, aber ob dann corporate Apps wie Threema ein alternatives Lizenz-Modell behalten werden ist fraglich.

GrapheneOS hat irgendwann vor ein paar Monaten mal erklärt, was das Problem ist, von closed source bis veröffentlichung der referenz nur noch als vm, nicht mehr als tatsächlich existierendes Gerät.
Das hat z.B. die Entwicklung von Graphene fürs Pixel 10 um Monate verlängert

Huh. Den Aufkleber kannte ich noch nicht.
