Well I just read a Hungarian folktale where the guy steals the dress - at which point the fairy walks up to him, slaps him across the face, and takes the dress back.

@suramya I found it in the Magyar Nyelvőr linguistic archives. It's called Tündérszép Majlona. (Problem is it was transcribed phonetically from dialect so Google Translate wouldn't handle it well)
